Not So Baby Blue Make-Up Choices!
![]() |
The fall transition is bittersweet. One the one hand, it’s time to take advantage of new fall clothing and makeup trends, and on the other hand, you’re giving up sweet, glorious summer! Transitional clothing is difficult — but the make up sure can be fun! I recommend going for some more electric blue in your eye and nail palette! The brights will give you just a little bit of lift, and the blow will definitely be softened when you switch to navy nail shades for true fall. I love the MakeUp Forever Glitters in Metallic Blue for a vampy, going out on the town look. Mixing the gorgeous Yves Saint Laurent Tresor d’Afrique palette for eyes will definitely soften the electric blue for daytime, but you’ll still have a kick. For the nails, you definitely can’t go wrong with OPI shades, especially Blue My Mind. Check out my slideshow for more ways to electrify your transition makeup! |
Uniqlo To Team Up With, Gulp, Disney?
![]() |
Uniqlo has been trying hard to keep up with the Topshops and H&Ms of the world lately by announcing new initiatives and designer collaborations. Yet, the Japanese retailer seems to be lacking in direction– last week’s debut of its Jil Sander collection didn’t quite live up to fab collab standards. Now Uniqlo has just announced that they’ve teamed up with Walt Disney to release a line of Disney-themed products next month. Is this move to satisfy Japanese American fandom? Uniqlo trying to be ironic? Or, the more likely scenario… an attempt to produce something cute. Or, as they say in Japan, kawaii. Want to know more about this Uniqlo/ Disney venture? Which Celeb Guest Was Most Fashionably Fired Up For JC Penney’s "I Heart Ronson" Launch?
![]() |
We’re all about a hot recession-friendly designer collabo, and in tough times like these, we’re definitely not the only ones! In honor of Charlotte Ronson’s new line for JC Penney, “I Heart Ronson,” celebs and socialites alike gathered at NYC’s Lighthouse for barbeque fare, beach volleyball, and killer dance tracks, thanks to the designer’s famous DJ siblings, Mark and Samantha. The collection’s fall line is said to include lots of fun florals and floaty blouses with on emphasis on flirty low-maintenance style. And while the designer and her wardrobe were naturally the focus of the evening, plenty of stylish stars were present to help share the spotlight. Mischa Barton and Alexa Chung were among some of the launch celebration’s fashionable attendees, decked out in their favorite Ronson duds. Vote below on which party guest you think stole the spotlight! Photo Credit: PR Photos![]() |

Going back to school means you’re about to have your brain jogging at high speed: cute clothes, cute boys, and something you should definitely think about before heading back to school, cute school supplies. Get your hands on some of the coolest things to get you through the reading, writing and arithmetic of the school year. Miss Bibi Jewelry Let’s You Wear Your Life in Miniature!
![]() |
Inspired by the world of childhood and nostalgia, Miss Bibi (Brigitte Giraudi) creates mini-sized household items and turns them into whimsical jewelry pieces. With a background in 3D Illustration and Stop Frame Animation, Miss Bibi started working by making models of miniature sets for animation movies. Then one day, her love of all things mini translated into the work of jewelry creations and so was born the first collection of miniaturized objects to wear! Made from silver and sometimes plated in gold, her first collection draws from not only household objects, but also from that famous detective game we all grew up with: Clue! Inspiration turned out mini chandeliers, knives, guns, and other less murderous household items. If you’re feeling a little more dollhouse and less murder mystery, pick from an array of more gentle offerings like mini chairs, hearts, and high-heeled shoes. Check out the slideshow for some amazing tiny styles! See more and buy online at Missbibi.com, because really… who can resist anything made in miniature? |
Hussein’s Dreamy Denim
We were a little suprised by the Hussein Chalayan/J Brand collaboration at first, we’ll admit: how would something so conceptual and something so mainstream mix? After watching this video, though, of each style strolling through Chalayan’s retrospective at the London Design Museum, one thing is for sure: we want them all.
Straw Revolution!

Searching for a new piece of furniture for that empty-looking nook in your living room? Don’t run off to Ikea; instead simply pick up a few thousand drinking straws at the grocery store. Voilá! You’ve got yourself a chair. While this sounds like a puzzling suggestion to most, it’s perfectly practical for artist Scott Jarvie. His “Clutch Chair” made from 10,000 colorful straws won the 2008 Noise Festival Curator’s Choice Award. Jarvie’s commentary on our disposable culture is food, or rather, drink for thought.
Your Tuna Rolls Now Come in Lego

Mmm…one glance at this lego sushi and we’re craving rainbow rolls. While this version of our favorite Japanese treat is more pixilated than the sushi rolls we’re used to seeing on our plate, it still looks delish to us. And the lego chopsticks actually appear as if they would work! The artist, “Big Daddy” Nelson, whips up yummy confections like birthday cakes that are somehow still drool-worthy. Chic Report knows that it’s always in style to play with your food. Bon appetite!
Louis’s Luxe Livre
Vuitton and Murakami just can’t get enough of each other. Just a month after their ultra-posh collaboration on the plush Putipanda, the two cultural giants have reunited for a slightly more sophisticated endeavor. Come September 1st, Vuitton stores worldwide will launch a deluxe edition of their haute-ly intellectual book, “Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture.” Naturally, the house enlisted Murakami to design the luxe livre, which includes over 400 pages of images and critical essays about the fashion institution’s diverse creative collaborations. The Murakami edition will be both fêted and featured at Vuitton’s Fashion’s Night Out celebration. The brand’s 57th street flagship will remain open to eager shoppers until 11:00pm, and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the National September 11th Memorial & Museum.
